Individualising selection of antiobesity medications among
specific populations with obesity common in primary care settings Hypertension
All AOMs are approved as adjunctive therapy to a reduced-
calorie diet and increased physical activity. The authors note
that clinicians should continue to counsel patients on these
lifestyle modifications at the time of AOM initiation. AOMs
are effective adjunctive therapies to lifestyle changes for
improved weight loss and health outcomes, notably because
obesity is associated with multiple comorbidities such as
hypertension.
